NY: (Actual) Day One

Hello! Meet my room (which I didn't want at first because 1. It was so close to the door which
would mean that I would have to answer it whenever someone was gonna knock - hehe
2. The other room had a balcony!!! 3. The other room had a nicer view, ok)
_MG_6184

Ay ay ay before anything else I should say that I am in a two-bedroom suite with
my mom and Ate Diday! Kuya Dennis and Kuya Manolo each have their own
rooms on a different floor. This is our living room.
_MG_6185

You can't really see Mom and Ate Diday's room, but this is it.
The first day's morning was a lazy morning.
_MG_6189

The view from our balcony!
_MG_6193

Here's a better look at the Public Library from the last post -
it's cute, 'no? It would be fun to play Katamari here.
_MG_6194

Halu our bathroom mirrors are circles
_MG_6197

Everyone met up at our room at around 9:45am and I was laughing
at Kuya because he went jogging that morning and got lost.
He ended up at Harlem and didn't know how to
get back. He didn't have any money on him either, so instead of getting a cab,
he had to jog all the way back to the hotel. He jogged about 17km :-))
_MG_6200

At 10am, we left to walk to a nearby Best Buy.
_MG_6207

We looked around a bit and I saw a new Wacom Bamboo tablet model
but I decided against it. Didn't need it + save money!!!
I WAS looking for some 4LR44 batteries for Spencer,
my film camera, though. Didn't find any huhu.

At 10:30am we had to take a cab to Norma's because Ate Diday made
a 10:45am reservation, and it was really funny because when we called
a cab, Mom, Ate Diday, Kuya Manolo and I got in.

Eh in New York, only four people are allowed in a cab - but
Kuya Manolo still didn't leave the car and Kuya Dennis had to get a cab
alone. That's him standing at the sidewalk waiting lol
_MG_6212

In this photo, Ate Diday's laughing and saying, "What a brother you are, Manolo!!!"
Turns out he didn't know what was going on the whole time because he
was on his phone - probably playing a game :-))
_MG_6213

Poof! We got to Norma's! We went here for brunch. The entrance of the place
has a projected clock on the floor and I found it kyot.
_MG_6227

I like the "MOM CAN'T MAKE THIS" section of the menu.

_MG_6230

The girls shared a four-cheese omelet and a bacon + cheese + egg pizza!
_MG_6236

After brunch, Kuya Dennis went on his own to check out a golf store,
and the rest of us got on a cab to Bloomingdale's.
_MG_6243

I didn't feel like going in there, so Ate Diday pointed out the H&M in front of
the mall. I got some office clothes (I start work on September 1!!!) and then I headed towards
Bloomingdale's, past it, and into Urban Outfitters (There are a bunch of branches everywhere,
and I go into every new one if I can because I LOVE THIS STORE PLEASE)

When I got to Urban Outfitters, a lady went up to me and asked for directions
to H&M (probably because I had a shopping bag with me) and buti nalang hindi
ako napahiya! I was able to explain the directions properly ("Uh, you just go
straight ahead, past Bloomingdale's" LOL) and she thanked me before leaving.

When I was done, I walked to Bloomingdales and met up with Mom and Ate Diday,
who were at Louis Vuitton. Kuya Manolo was there on the couch, so I sat there too
and had a game of Hungry Shark (which I had to start over because it my phone deleted
everything when I went back to IOS6 from IOS7!!! Huhu).

After Mom paid, we went to a restaurant because she wanted to eat something.
Ate Diday says this piece of bread is called a Popover. It's a hollow cute bread!
_MG_6260

I had sliders! (I was only able to eat one and I had the rest of them packed for me)
_MG_6268

After shopping + meriends, we all met up at the hotel. I chilled for a little bit,
then it was off to a store called Adorama with Kuya. I was trying to look for
4LR44 batteries again, and I finally found them!
_MG_6281

Hemingway, when we were on our way into the store, I saw this guy
standing outside with a really big camera. I couldn't stop thinking about him
and about how I should have taken his photo. When we were done paying,
we went out and he was still there, so I decided I had to go say something.

ANA: Hi, excuse me. Can I take your photo? I really like your camera.
GUY: You do?
ANA: Yeah! Can I take your photo with it?
GUY: Sure, but you only get one shot.

I laughed and took a photo, then I showed it to him.
_MG_6287

GUY: Oh okay. I think you know what you're doing.
ANA: Yay! Can I take another one?
_MG_6288

After I showed him my second shot, he asked me to write down his name
and to look for him on Facebook. He spelled it out for me - Louis Mendes.
Turns out he's a street photographer who goes around taking photos
of people! He's pretty popular, and he's been using that big camera since 1959.

After that, I had dinner with Ate Diday and Kuya Dennis at Bryant Park Grill - again.
_MG_6293

There was some sort of drive-in movie at the park, except without all the cars.
They were showing E.T. with all the people sitting down on the grass.
It was cute.

NY: (Not quite) Day One

Hiii! This is the story of how I went to New York.
(Lol yes this entry is about the journey there! Hahaha
it won't be pointless, I promise. Some really funny things happened)

Standing on the baggage weighing scale - this is not allowed pls wag tularan.
I took this when we were fixing our tickets to Hong Kong.
_MG_6123

I didn't take any photos at the lounge, but this did happen there...
MOM: 'Day, may tsismis ako sa'yo mamaya.
ATE DIDAY: Sige, mamaya sa lounge.
ANA: Can I know the tsismis?
MOM: No, Anette. It's about sex.
_MG_6129

Took a photo of the guy in the seat next to me
_MG_6133

When we landed in Hong Kong, we had to go through inspection before
we could go to the next lounge (which was my plan) or go shopping
(this was Ate Diday and Mom's plan, duh) tapos Kuya Manolo called me and said:
_MG_6234

Merienda at the Cathay lounge
_MG_6135

I had noodles from the Noodle Bar! (Hi Trachea, I remembered you!)
_MG_6138

When Ate Diday and Mom left to go shopping, I moved into an
emo spot at the lounge (I have a photo of that on my LJ blog, except it's gone now!)
and had an ice cream while talking to Kimpoi and Carlos on Viber.

Walking to the plane..............................................................
_MG_6143

For a 14-hour flight, always have a comfortable shirt to sleep in.
This polo is not that shirt.
_MG_6151

This is that shirt!
_MG_6153

The plane pretends it's night time so that people go to sleep!
I was busy watching a bunch of movies and shows -
and when I actually wanted to sleep na, the plane started shaking
and I thought we were going to die :-| I was just lying there
wishing for the shaking to calm down huhuhuhuhuhuhuhu
_MG_6158

Fast forward to New York! We were in line for whatever it is you have to do
when you get to a new country - I have no idea what it is called
but it involves showing your passport and giving your finger prints. That is not
the point here, because the point is
JOHN LEGEND PASSED BY US WHILE WE WERE STANDING IN LINE
_MG_6237

YEAH AS IN THIS GUY OK.
Huhuhuhu I love him

(Thank you, Google #1)

Ate Diday had a driver pick us up, and I got to ride shotgun!
_MG_6161

Fast forward again - chenen! This is the lobby of our hotel.
_MG_6164

This is us on the way up to our floor.
_MG_6167

The guy who checked us in was also the guy who brought our bags up to our rooms.
While he was moving our luggage, he asked me if I wanted a fun fact.
_MG_6248

Yes, as in this guy.

(Thank you, Google #2)

Now, I haven't been back to New York for quite a while
(Quite a while = 16 years), so nothing looked familiar to me.

The restaurant at the lobby of our hotel was closed and they wanted to eat dinner,
so we walked around a bit. Our hotel is right in front of the Public Library, by the way!
_MG_6170

We turned at the corner and ended up at Bryant Park where we found
a restaurant, so we decided to eat there (read: gutomy abwell)
_MG_6177

And that's pretty much it for the On-the-way-there-because-I-don't-count-it-as-a-day post!

My website's up!

Okay I have been worrying about a decent portfolio website for a while now,
because the last one I made was pure HTML (and purely for portfolio class in school, haha)
and when I checked back on it recently, a lot of codes were broken.
I got scared thinking that people who were thinking about hiring me would
be seeing the broken links so I decided to kill my whole site and remake it into a whole new thing.

I gave up on coding on pure HTML na rin, and looked for a nice Wordpress theme -
Fast forward to editing and editing the theme I got, and now I think I'm finally happy with it.
(Happy enough to share with the world jhgdsjhdjs)

I still feel weird about the logo though... But I guess this will do for now.
Just click my face to see it!

Singapore: Day Four (and kind of Five)

On the last whole day in Singapore, I declared that I would shop.
(This would include Tisha's pasalubong, my friends' pasalubong, and me me me)

Hoy I was wearing denim pa rin ha.
Extra information - I sewed the sleeves on this shirt to keep them folded forever.
_MG_6099

Hala? (Miko was making me do something other than just standing there)
_MG_6103

So ayon - Miko went off to meet up with his frisbee buddies, Mom and Dad went off
to Takashimaya, Ate Diday was somewhere too, and I walk from the hotel to Cineleisure
and went to Burger King for some lunch since everything was still closed.
_MG_6108

When I was a kid, Ate would always order a whopper but ask that it be plain.
As in meat and bread lang, then she'd put ketchup on it while eating it.
I never grew out of it.
_MG_6109

So ayon, after lunch, the stores were opening na.
Biglang whaaaaaat? I found my high school friend Marga in a store!
(In Singapore pa of all places 'no? I hadn't seen her in a long time)
She's the one on the right. Tapos the friend she was with was from Benilde
pala, and she told me that she'd see me around Taft all the time.
(Lol nice to finally meet you - in Singapore. Lol)
_MG_6110

Tapos she offered to take our picture so yay :-h
_MG_6111

After spending a few hours at Cineleisure, I was a happy kid na so I walked
back to the hotel na. I passed by some Milo at the milk tea place next door,
then headed upstairs to the room. Had a pretty long Facetime call with Kimpoi
_MG_6113

Also ate the Yan Yan I got from Seven Eleven on the first night.
I ended up throwing it away because it was super stale, jej.
Sana may Milo din sa milk tea places dito
_MG_6116

Tapos ayon, Miko, Anica, and Ana just spent the rest of the day at the hotel.
Got room service na rin instead of going out (because we planned to go out
then everyone just got lazy so ayon)

Fast forward to Day Five, where nothing particularly interesting happened.
(except for finding a robot and a deck of cards with wild animals on them in the airport)

I kinda slept through the flight, then I woke up with an hour left
before Manila, so I asked if I could have some bread and butter.
The steward appeared with different kinds, and I was so happy that
I said, "YAY!" and then he said "YAY!" right back at me!
Huhuhuhu thank you for being happy for me, steward guy.
Photo 6-23-13, 3 15 34 AM

When I got back to Manila, Carlos told me that his parents were inviting
me to dinner, and I was allowed (WOOHOO)
so when we got home, I just dressed up, re-makeup-ed, then left!
We had ramen that night. It was goooooood.
