NY: Day Four

Yay red Chucks YAY!
I actually had a pair of red high cuts before
but I gave it away (Nyare, Ana?)
_MG_6460

Hemingway, Day Four was Shake Shack day!!!
That is my mother lovingly looking at a pretzel stand...
_MG_6469

Anyway.

What happened in Shake Shack:
1.) I LOVE YOU SHAKE SHACK
2.) Mom and Kuya Dennis got their orders switched
3.) Mom didn't tell Kuya Dennis about it because she was enjoying Kuya's burger
4.) Kuya Dennis still forced her to give him back half his burger
5.) Kuya Manolo did not care
_MG_6473

When we finished eating our (BEST EVER I COULD EAT IT EVERY DAY) meal,
it started to rain. Ate Diday and Mom shared an umbrella as we crossed the street.
_MG_6475

Kuya Dennis and I got so bored trapped inside Best Buy (where we ended up when the rain started to get worse) that he just randomly decided that we go to MoMA and be stranded there instead.

He ran out into the street to wave a cab over and we got in!
Lalalalala on the way to MoMA lalalalalalalalalala
_MG_6478

One thing Kuya Dennis and Ate Diday have in common -
they like to prepare their money before we get to our destination
_MG_6481

Guys bata pa ang fezz ko - I got in as a student
_MG_6486

This was one of the first artworks I saw at MoMA
and it reminded me of EWWS and their love for Andy Warhol :-))
_MG_6488

I was next to the legit The Starry Night ok.
By the way, right before Kuya Dennis took this photo of me,
a random Chinese guy handed me his camera and was motioning for
me to take a photo of him with the painting. Medj funny
_MG_6492

The Picasso stuff
(which I still have a hard time understanding. I like Da Vinci a lot more)
_MG_6497

HARTDS2, isdatchu???
(Grabe I thought the last time I'd be seeing paintings like this would be in
my professor's powerpoint presentation ten million terms ago)
_MG_6499

This was the painting that Kuya Dennis was enggry at.
_MG_6501

KUYA DENNIS: I really don't understand paintings like this.
I can do that tonight eh!!!
_MG_6857

There was a whole room for Monet's Water Lilies
(Na hindi ko rin feel...)
_MG_6517

Mondrian aka Brother's Burger wrappers!
_MG_6522

These next two paintings remind me of one of my favorite
professors in school - Sir Ian Quirante! Super influence niya 'to, I bet!
_MG_6530
_MG_6532

Ana in MoMA!
_MG_6534

Surrealism stuff that I didn't understand but were very cute
_MG_6536
_MG_6547

(This one though - what a cute idea, right????????????)
_MG_6550

There was one whole room full of these L-shaped paintings in different variations
(Hindi ko na naman gets pero they're nice to look at)
IMG_basta

Didn't like a lot of stuff at the Photography section but these were nice
_MG_6560
_MG_6561

Cuuuuuute
_MG_6564

Cuuuuuute
_MG_6566

Cute ideaaaa
_MG_6616

I stole a photo of someone again
_MG_6557

They were listening to the sound exhibit
(Every speaker was supposed to have a different sound)
_MG_6631

The newest art was at the lowest floor
_MG_6648

This sculpture's made of cow parts
_MG_6651

We were pretty tired by the time we finished the exhibit,
but we still decided to walk back to the hotel.

We passed by this pretty church
(Literal na passed by lang ha, I didn't go in or anything hahaha)
_MG_6669

Back at the hotel, Mom was already planning to order room service
because she didn't want to eat out. Eh we were tired too (at least I was)
so we decided to stay and have room service also.

While waiting, Ate Diday showed me a five dollar bill she got as change that day.
_MG_6679

Oh, and Kuya Manolo was too busy playing Yahtzee (ata) on his phone
kaya he didn't realize he was squishing Ate Diday's lamb skin bag.

Eh a few minutes later, Ate Diday started looking for it,
so this happened. (If you can't read it, that's Ate Diday shouting, "HOY PUTANGINA!!!")
_MG_6853

As usual, wherever Mom is, the temperature will be at around 16 degrees.
I wouldn't have survived without this blanket
_MG_6682

Eh the doorbell rang because dinner was there na, and no one was getting up to
open the door, kaya I had to do it looking like a nun

NY: Day Three

HI I FEEL BAD FOR NOT UPDATING AT ALL
PERO I HAD A REASONABLE REASON!!!

The only reason for the lateness is that
I absolutely HAVE to blog things in order
because of OC-ness and NY: Day Three didn't have
any interesting happenings so I wanted to skip blogging it
BUT I HATE SKIPPING BECAUSE IT HAS TO BE IN ORDER NGA
(Yeah so I was at war with myself every time I sat down to blog this)

Ayon I kept on putting it off until poof, it's been a month and a half!
There is no other way to continue blogging the rest of my life
until this entry happens, so here I am super forcing it :-))

Day Three in New York was blocked off for a place called Woodbury.
(I had never been there before, but Carlos and I had a laugh talking about it
because it had the same name as that happy town in The Walking Dead!)

Everytime I look at photos I took of my three siblings + Mom,
I was reminded by a boy band - so I will refer to them as a boy band
every time all four of them are in a photo.
_MG_6425

I was the backback seat person, as usual!
_MG_6427

Kuya Dennis got teased because he was watching this
documentary about Buddha in the car.

Hemingway, we finally got to Woodbury
_MG_6430

Everyone went on their own, so I got a map and marked
all the places that I would consider going into nyehehe.
I was mostly excited about 1.) Getting a pair of new Chucks
2.) Going to the Disney store because that is always fun and
3.) Visiting the only toy store there
(And I was right, they were the only three places where I actually bought something!
Unless you include chocolates for Trachea)
_MG_6436

Since I was having an adventure alone, I would stop here and there to update my map
(Yes, I drew my path around Woodbury and marked a bunch of landmarks so I wouldn't get lost!)
_MG_6452

I also wrote down what I did where and where my family members were based on their texts
_MG_6454

After Woodbury, everyone decided to have dinner at the hotel lobby restaurant again
because their shrimp was so magical we were so tired from the long car ride
_MG_6442

I love you
_MG_6444

You were a mistake
_MG_6449

I am not sure if I put this drawing on the right entry,
pero let's just say that I'm right and this DID happen on the third night there -
some of you might have known that the US Open was happening on the
same week we were there (I sure as hell didn't know hahaha)
pero turns out some of the players were staying in the same hotel as us
(aka Maria Sharapova and boyfriend)

Ate Diday and I were in the elevator on the way up to our floor
with a guy carrying food behind us and a blonde in front of us.
Suddenly Ate Diday turns to me and says (and she's being sure to say this in Filipino),
"Kuhanan mo ng litrato!"
_MG_6856

After we got back to the room, I find out from an excited Ate Diday na
it was Maria Sharapova in the elevator and yes, I know her name,
but tennis isn't one of the sports I follow so I didn't super know her face :-))

That night was not our last encounter with her, though =))

NY: Day Two

This morning, Mom had Ate Diday make some oatmeal for her.
Kuya Dennis comes in and sees it then says,
"Kadiri!!! Para yan sa walang ipin!!!"
IMG_1756

After laughing at Mom, he goes and has his breakfast microwaved which was scarier than oatmeal.
It was a can of chili he bought the night before - he said it was the "best breakfast ever!!!"

(Lol. We've been walking past this place called Chipotle, a Mexican place, and he
started craving for Mexican food because it was the "best cuisine ever!!!" daw)
IMG_1757

I had cute milk + cereal + coffee
_MG_6306

A car for Mrs. Patricia (aka Ate Diday) was waiting downstairs for us to take us - duh - shopping!
_MG_6310

He was our driver for the day! Ate Diday asked him if I could take his photo,
and he laughed and let me do it
_MG_6346

A bit later, tah daaaaaah - We were at Target
_MG_6318

I found this cute Mario doll at the kid's section and took it with me
just so I had some company (I can hear Carlos judging me right now)
_MG_6322

I rarely had anyone take my photo on this trip because I was shy -
Ate / Kuya Leo weren't there so I had to do the mirror thing a lot :-))
_MG_6319

After Target, we went downstairs to Costco.
Mom got a ton of batteries (which will mostly be used up by Dad and Ana)
_MG_6331

Found this giant dog and got over the shyness to ask Ate Diday for a photo
because this HAD to be documented. This has to be the heaviest stuffed toy ever
_MG_6332

Bored brothers waiting for Ate Diday and Mom to finish shopping
_MG_6334

Everyone paid for their own things, and when it was time to have our cart's receipt checked,
Mom realized that it was missing and we were standing there at the exit looking like this:
_MG_6850

Thankfully, we found the receipt in one of the boxes in our cart
so we got to leave na. I owned the back-back seat and I spent the ride home
writing down notes on my handy pink post-its so I wouldn't forget to draw
funny things that have been happening!
_MG_6337

Fast forward to the hotel, where they totally forgot about me!!!
They all left me in the car and I had to knock on the glass until
Ate Diday noticed me and started laughing
_MG_6851

Kuya Dennis took me to B&H, a photo/video store that had everything you could ever need.
Grabe, nastress ako dito ok. Camera things everywhere let's crey.

Kuya Dennis went to the digital camera section because he had finally decided
on the new camera he wanted to buy, and I spent my time in the film camera
section, because I wanted to get a new lens for Spencer, my Canon A-1.

There were so many lenses to choose from and I didn't know what
to get. The guy who was helping me out made me try a bunch, and I finally
decided to get a wide lens that could also zoom in and out. He gave me a slip
so I could pay for my lens at the cashier and told me I had two hours before
I actually had to pay, so I went to Kuya Dennis, who was done and picking up his slip as well.

This guy's name was Andrew, and when I went up to my brother, Andrew said,
"Oh, is this your daughter?" Kuya Dennis started freaking out, going,
"NO NO NO! She's my sister!!!"
_MG_6350

So ayon, we went downstairs to pay at the cashier.
I ended up paying to this lady who asked,
"Hey! How are you?" She laughed at me when I said "Excited!!!"

After paying, you get a pick-up slip which you take to this part of the store.
You see those wheels at the top of the photo? That's how they transport all their products
to the pick up area at the ground floor! No one has to walk the products to the
cashier or anything! I find it cool ok
_MG_6353

Kuya Dennis and I started walking back to the hotel from B&H.
He decided that we should pass by Times Square so that it would be an interesting walk
and I saw this dude and asked him for a photo - I didn't realize that he was from
Ripley's until I uploaded this to my computer!
_MG_6357

It's a funny coincidence because after walking a bit further, I see the Ripley's Museum
and ask Kuya if we can go - he paid for my ticket (student discount, yo), so yay!!!

This is a replica of the World Trade Center. It's made of toothpicks!
_MG_6361

Kuya Dennis comparing his hand to the world's largest hand
_MG_6363

I remember all these characters from the Ripley's Museum in Shangrila Mall!
Did you guys ever get to go there before it closed???
_MG_6364

This dude I remember because I used to follow the Ripley's show on AXN when I was a kid.
(I also own about three Ripley's books!!! I like weird things)
_MG_6365

The 1,400 pound man who was hanging from the ceiling
_MG_6371
_MG_6372

This buddha's made of money!
I rubbed its tummy because the description said it would be good luck. :-))
_MG_6373
_MG_6374

That mural thing on the wall is made out of postage stamps
_MG_6375

This is a cute decorated skull!
_MG_6393

When we finished the exhibit and left,
a performer was swallowing needles outside the museum :-)
_MG_6406

When we got home, we had dinner at the restaurant in the hotel and walked around a bit.

That night, Ate Diday taught me how to wrap my shampoo in plastic so it
wouldn't spill in my luggage! :-)
