Singapore: Day One

Hello! Today we went to Singapore!
We will be here from today to Sunday.
My dad says that our vacation is only four days because
"you have to exclude the first day and include the last day."

Buuuut I will go ahead and count it the way I want to -
so I include today as part of the vacation pa rin!

We left the house at around 11:30AM.
We didn't get to the airport till around 12:47PM
because of the stupid traffic as in grabe siya, ok.

Mom was wearing red.
Dad was wearing blue.
I was wearing red and blue.
Sabaw.

Blah blah blah fast forward to the lounge
(That's Mom walking to the lounge)
_MG_5829

I found frozen Milo!
(I used to drink that everyday when I was in high school)
... Nabigo ako.
_MG_5892

Ay! Oo nga pala. The other day I decided that I would be wearing denim
for all the days I'd be in Singapore (Seryoso guys, 70% of my luggage is denim)
_MG_5832

And this is something funny that happened.
This was a conversation between my mom and my dad.
_MG_5893

Blah blah blah fast forward to boarding
(That's Dad walking to the boarding area)
_MG_5833

I sat next to my cousin Pammy (who is now the councilor of Taguig City, yiheeeee!)
The traffic that morning was super intense na nga, tapos there was runway traffic too.
Our flight got delayed by 45 minutes, so we got to Singapore at 6pm

That's Dad being zzz

I took this while we were waiting for a ride to the hotel.
That's Mom, Tita Mimi, and Tito Ronny
_MG_5847

We spent about a total of 15 minutes in the hotel
(Checking in, leaving our things at the room, bathroom break)
and then we had to leave for dinner na - we were already late.

We ate at Long Beach
_MG_5853

The lady led us past a bridge, into a private room.
_MG_5855

Kamusta naman ang wet tissue nila?
Miss Intercontinental in a bathing suit WHILE serving you crab!

Hello!
_MG_5872

The girls and boys were divided into two rooms, by the way.
The girls got "Riches" and the boys got "Triumph,"
and I couldn't help drawing the brothers drinking their coconut juice
(That's Dad and Tito Ronny looking very triumphant with their coconuts)
_MG_5894

This is Black Pepper Crab, their specialty!
(I EAT CRAB NOW GUYS)
_MG_5876

I got a claw and they opened it for me! Nom
_MG_5878

This was Dad's weird dessert.
It had smoke coming out of it
_MG_5882

We went back to the hotel in two cars -
this was when we were waiting for Dad and the others to arrive
_MG_5890

Ayon, when I got upstairs, Miko was already in the room!
(YES I WILL BE WITH MIKO PLENTY ON THIS TRIP!)
He was nice enough to let me watch the latest episodes of The Voice
WITHOUT EVEN TELLING ME NA SI JUDITH HILL YUNG MATATANGGAL
GRABE I COULDN'T CHANGE MY FACE AFTER THE EPISODE ENDED.

My face more or less looked like this:

These are some really funny photos I found from
the other section's exhibit, Art Beat! Sobrang funny ok.

Their installation was an interactive photobooth -
one where you could draw right onto a smart board right before printing

This is Monica being a Street Fighter

We gave the printed version of this photo to Sir Rob so he wouldn't forget us!
You might not see it but we wrote WE LOVE YOU SIR ROB there at the bottom!
529137_448070761937354_1957477279_n

And as for the title of this post - I was referring to this.
DO YOU HAVE CREATUVUTY?!
66828_595156140497519_975297330_n

Ay! And this is what our giant kaleidoscope looked like pala!
This is for the people who weren't able to make it huhu
Watch it in HD, ha? It looks nicer that way

So ayon, I really miss everyone! I wanted to die when so many things had to be done,
but now I super miss the busyness and the never ending meetings and all the people
I spent the Multimedia Arts Festival with huhuhuhuhuhu #MasayaMagdramaGuys

I like eating triangle-shaped yema

This is part three of the MMAF blog post,
also known as Rockwell Tent Exhibit: Production

AGAIN, NONE OF THESE PHOTOS ARE MINE!
This post includes photos from Sir Rob, Maysie, Kevin, and maybe Rein!

Production was spent at my old house in Greenhills -
where we spent A LOT of our time for the last weeks of PORTFOL.
Buti nalang I was done with most of my subjects and didn't have to go to Taft much!

These are acrylic glass traingles that we covered in red cellophane.
(Colored acrylic glass is much too expensive - and we didn't need a lot)
900927_10151321701125286_587913718_o

After they'd dry, the others would turn them into pyramids -
these things were what we put inside our installation!
895087_10151321701475286_1293655938_o

(Anything involving a cutter is fun for Ana)

Comparing a piece of yema to the triangles we were making
(O DIBA MUKHANG YEMA)
897243_10151323061165286_285720657_o

This is what the finished pyramids looked like!
Some of them aren't exactly pyramids, because we tried
to work with different kinds of shapes!
892289_592883864058080_1242013033_o

OH! And the acrylic glass triangles were obviously made by Sir Xu Wei, Master Cutter
905405_592896944056772_1671114894_o

While the class worked on the triangles, our carpenters Matias and Sam
were making our base! (The design + look + measurements + everything
of our installation was designed by John!)
893443_592897164056750_1706057581_o

The finished base!
906890_592896807390119_820255421_o

Matias and Sam cut the acrylic sheets down the middle to make
2 ft x 6 ft walls - tapos they insterted wooden frames on the sides so that
they wouldn't fall over and slice someone once we made them stand
883548_592897274056739_1936724054_o

That's what they looked like standing up!
(We kept the wrapping on the acrylic glass this time so that
we'd be sure to keep it safe from scratches nyehehe)
892329_592897217390078_1371021538_o

Tapos Rein knew people who could build our mirrors for us,
kaya when she brought them over to the house, John and Zac immediately
tried to fit the mirrors into the base! (HEHE HELLO SIR ROB)
891798_592884134058053_446396992_o

Zac gluing the mirrors in place
903997_592883764058090_1895678099_o

And theeeen, we attached a center light in the base and covered it with the pyramids!
529640_10151409323187469_229264068_n

BLAH BLAH BLAH FAST FORWARD BIGLANG INGRESS NA!
Everyone finalized the installation as much as they could until 3AM
on the night before the exhibit, and then they began to carry out the whole thing!
(HAHA they actually broke one of the mirrors in the process,
but the crack wasn't big enough to ruin anything.)
559470_10151409323522469_1357100663_n

And then POOF we were at Rockwell by around 3:30AM!
Setting up everywhere, measuring stuff, spray painting, last minute additions, etc etc etc
901496_595520017127798_790501601_o

Ang kalat ng background, guys!!!
Nyehehehehe meet some of the people in DMA8!
(Don't worry, wala dito yung mga ayaw ko!)

Fun fact! I am holding out a beetle in this photo - Xu Wei found it in the garden
and gave it to me right before Kevin took the photo!
904487_592898920723241_2046463650_o

CHENEN! The installation right before opening!
Errr I'm not exactly sure if this WAS taken on the opening day, but this is
what the installation really looked like before we opened the doors to the public :-))
